Course Overview

This 10-hour comprehensive pharmacology update course explores recent trends and evidence-based outcomes involving pharmacotherapeutic decisions in NP practice.  Using a systematic approach, pharmacologic controversies in the management of an array of diagnoses such as hypertension, cardioembolic disease, asthma, GI disturbances, pain, erectile dysfunction, male reproductive inflammatory disorders and STDs/STIs will be presented.  Management updates for both inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases and pathogens, including vaccines, newer antimicrobials, and agents with bioterrorism potential will be explored.  Additionally, the dilemmas of polypharmacy and NP prescribing errors, along with new medication choices and the latest drug warnings will be covered, incorporating case study trivial analyses throughout the course.
